My Story

Kent Tonscheck is a vibrant new Australian act delivering original, heartfelt, pop-rock tales of truth and fiction.
Having tried work experience in various office and trade jobs he decided they weren’t for him but found passion in music and performance. As someone who felt wasn’t particularly skilled as a speaker, he tried sharing what he wanted to say as music.

Kent studied as a comtemporary vocalist and songwriter at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba. The city lights and crowds are a change from where he grew up, a farm in south-east Queensland, but the new opportunities make the change a welcome one.

In his final year at High School, Kent performed as a featured vocalist for Queensland’s Creative Generation on Channel 10 television Australia. He’s continued on, performing in main street events and at Basketball halftime shows in Toowoomba, all awhile playing regular gigs at a number of other events and venues, such as Sideshow Alley Main Stage during The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers 2014 and Open Day for Brisbane West Wellcamp Airport, as he completed his Bachelor of Creative Arts. 2015 saw Kent playing Easterfest and First Coat Festivals while performing regular live radio gigs.

“It doesn’t matter how big the gig is, every time I see even one person connect with me in music, I feel rewarded.”

In December 2014, Kent attended the Applause Rising Talent Showcase in Florida, USA as one of 37 from across Australia & New Zealand to present his skills in Singing and Modelling. He impressed a lot of agencies attaining a massive 5 callbacks and winning runner-up Solo Vocalist overall.

Since recording his debut EP in mid-September 2014, Kent Tonscheck has made himself the new talent to keep an eye on.
